National Library Week continues, and the Friends of the Library Sale at the Pella Public Library is going well. That’s according to Library Director Wendy Street. Street adds that the purpose of the sale is to make more books available to the public, and to generate money for the Library. Through the sale, the Friends of the Library are able to donate prizes for the summer reading program, purchase items for the collection, and purchase library equipment and furniture. The sale runs through April 19th.
The Knoxville Public Library is in the midst of one of their Friends of the Library Book Sale, which is one of their bigger fundraisers. The book sale started yesterday afternoon at the Library. Library Director Roslin Thompson says that the Friends of the Library are always very generous. She says that all the funds raised during the book sale will go straight back into Knoxville’s library to help them provide programs and resources throughout the year. The book sale continues Friday from 10am-5pm and Saturday from 10am-noon.
