
The National Weather Service Reports that a strong low pressure system will move into northeastern Nebraska by mid day, with additional thunderstorm development expected today into tonight. Severe weather is likely across much of the state, with the greatest threat of severe weather occurring this afternoon into the evening hours. In addition to the severe weather threat, very windy conditions are expected as gusty winds aloft mix down to the surface. Southerly to southwesterly winds of 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 50 to 60 mph will be possible across portions of the state this afternoon into this evening. Northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph will be possible late tonight into early Monday morning across northern Iowa.
