The Knoxville Raceway hosted practice night last night. 43 sprint cars between 305…360…and 410s were on hand and lap times were blazing as Lynton Jeffery ran a lap of 14-point-five/two/eight seconds…which is nearly a tenth off of the record set back in 2006. Rob Kubli brought out the only red flag of the night when he lost control through turn one and bounced off the wall, then did a couple of summersaults. Kubli was uninjured, but the car was done for the night. Tonight is opening night as many of the same drivers plus a few more will invade the half-mile for the first race of the season. It is also Race For Our School Night…where you can wear the school colors of your favorite high school. Knoxville, Pella, Twin Cedsars, P-C-M, Newton, Oskaloosa plus other area schools are participating. You can hear live coverage tonight starting with the debut edition of Live Track Side immediately following Central College Softball on 92.1 KRLS, then Race Night’s Live at 7:30 on KNIA/KRLS.
