Playing on one of the toughest courses they’ll see all season, the PCM girls golf team kept its collective composure and held off the rest of the field to win the Heart of Iowa Conference Championship Monday afternoon. The Mustangs’ score of 406 at TCI Golf Course in Polk City was ten strokes ahead of second-place Nevada.

Helping the PCM girls win the title were steady, consistent performances at the top, as four girls made the Heart of Iowa All-Conference team. Cassidy Van Veen’s 97 led the Mustangs and put her at fourth in the individual standings. Kelsey Van Veen took 5th with a 100; Rachel Phifer’s 104 earned her 9th place; and a 105 from Hannah Hugen rounded out four PCM golfers in the top ten.
