A group of Knoxville middle school students went “screen-free” for part of Tuesday as they studied invertebrate animals. Science and geography students from Mrs. Sara Finnegan and Mr. Mike Cunningham’s classes spent time at Marion County Park with Naturalist Marla Mertz. Finnegan told KNIA/KRLS News that the students also were able to compare water quality readings and other nature features from a previous trip in the fall. Mertz said that this is a great program to get children involved in the county park.
