[simage=4773,200,y,left] The alleged victim took the stand Tuesday morning in the sexual abuse trial for David Bennett. The girl was student in one of Bennett’s classes. She says she was in Bennett’s classroom for an extra credit opportunity when Bennett brought her to a back science lab attached to the classroom. She said that that was where the alleged incident occurred. The girl said multiple times that she was scared to leave during and following the alleged incident and was crying. She explained to the jury the timeline of what happened after the alleged incident as well, leading up to when she was taken to the hospital. At one point after the alleged incident but before she left the school, the student says that Bennett showed her a new grade sheet where he had bumped her grade up to an “A” that she had not earned.

Bennett’s defense team questioned the victim’s timeline of the day of the alleged incident. They also pointed out that the alleged victim had two separate opportunities to leave Bennett’s classroom if she felt uncomfortable before the alleged incident occurred. Those two times, other students walked into the front room of the classroom to ask Bennett homework questions.
