The Knoxville VA Campus has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register was first established in 1966 after the passage of the National Historic Preservation Act. The VA joins an extensive list of Marion County properties on the Register, including the Marion County Courthouse, the First Christian Church in Pella, the Hammond Bridge outside of Hamilton and many more.
