A brush fire on Highway 102 Monday was extinguished by the Pella Fire Department before it could spread. At around 11:40 Monday a fire was reported on Highway 102 just past Vermeer Corporation. The fire began in some brush and was in danger of spreading further into the field. The Pella Fire Department quickly extinguished the flames. The Pella Fire Department and Pella Ambulance responded to the scene.
