School Officials, the public, and an Appeals Board chosen by the state crowded the PCM High School Library on Wednesday. The appeals board heard arguments from the school board, and Criste Scarnati about the school’s 2012-2013 budget. Scarnati publishes a newspaper in Prairie City, and has written about the budget several times. Scarnati cited past incidents regarding theft by school employees, which the school board’s legal counsel described as personal attacks that did not relate to the current budget. The Appeals Board will make a decision on whether or not the school’s budget can be approved on June 4th.
