The great weather that’s been predicted for this weekend means that Memorial Day, typically the busiest boating weekend of the year, will be even busier than usual. DNR Conservation Officer Ken Kenyon reminds boaters that they should have a life jacket for every individual on the boat, and that children are required to have theirs on when they enter the water. With so much traffic on the lake, the DNR recommends keeping at least 50 feet from other boats in the water. And, of course, people operating the boat should not be drinking. Marion County Sheriff Ron Goemaat says that they’ll have their boat out on the lake this weekend patrolling the waters.
