A local softball product was on the list last week when the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2012 Softball All-America teams, selected by the NAIA All-America committee.  Former PCM standout Emily Gilbert is a Second Team selection, after having led Grand View College to a 31-30 overall record and second place finish in the Midwest Collegiate Conference in 2012.

The Vikings advanced to the Final Four of the MCC Tournament behind Gilbert who started all 61 games for Grand View this season, batting .344 with 62 hits, 39 runs, 54 RBIs, seven doubles, three triples and 12 home runs. She was voted to the MCC First Team for the third time this year.  The senior, who graduated in April with a degree in Human Services, also managed to maintain a perfect 4.0 grade point average, and was recently named an NAIA All-American Scholar-Athlete and CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American.

There were 33 players on the NAIA First or Second Teams where their programs participated in the 32-team NAIA National Championship in Gulf Shores, Alabama, this year.
