The term “Next man in” or in the case of the Knoxville Softball Squad next girl in applies very well this week. Two starters were out against Oskaloosa on Wednesday night as Erica Fee played third base for what Coach Steph Christner thought the first time in her life and made two run saving plays. Also taking Fee’s normal spot in right field was eighth grader Carrie Chambers. Christner said she did well after only being told earlier that day she was starting. Knoxville hopes to have at least some of the starters back for tonight’s home game against Newton. Newton is four-and-five on the season and is one a three game winning streak.
