The PCM baseball team was unable to replicate the success they’d had against Gilbert earlier this season, falling to the Tigers 4-1 Tuesday night. Two costly Mustang errors allowed Gilbert to put up three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break open a 1-1 tie game, before they put away the final three outs to earn the win.
Mustangs’ pitcher Sean O’Connor took the loss, allowing six hits and striking out seven batters on the night. At the plate, Jordan Van Roekel and Dalton Spears each went 2-for-3, accounting for half of PCM’s hits. The Mustangs are now 17-3 and 10-2 in the Heart of Iowa Conference.
