The Pella School Board held the first of their summer meetings last night, and they discussed their facility improvement plan. A committee met in the previous months to try to rank and prioritize construction and renovation projects for the schools in the district. No final decisions were made on the potentially very costly construction projects, but security and safety was set as a high priority. The committee and the school board feel that projects that would make sure all visitors to the school must enter through doors by the main offices, along with other safety renovations were important for all of the schools. Some of the other major projects discussed were the choice to renovate or build a new Lincoln Elementary School, and renovating or building a new high school.
