Twin Cedars clinched a share of the Bluegrass Conference softball crown Friday night by thumping Seymour 14-2 on Senior Night.

Brittney Roby was again dominant at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 and one at-bat shy of potentially hitting for the cycle. She also pounded in four RBIs. Roby has now broken the Sabers single-season records for hits, doubles and triples. Seniors Brooke Dunkin and Kassidy Swayne made the night a memorable one as well, with Dunkin going 2-for-4 with a triple and scoring three times; and Swayne slugging a double and batting in three runs. Bailey Stone rounded out the Sabers’ hitting attack with a 1-for-2 performance that included two RBI.

All of those hits backed up pitcher Mackenzie Sedlock, who allowed five hits and struck out five batters in four innings of work. The win puts the Twin Cedars softball team at 21-14 overall and 11-2 in the Blugrass Conference – which will become officially 12-2 on Monday, following a decision by Murray to forfeit a make-up game. This is the third straight season the Sabers have shared the league title.
