With highs expected to reach triple-digits multiple times this week, it’s vital that your air conditioner be in tip-top working condition. Brookwood, Inc. owner Everett Wood, says to check that your filter inside the unit and the outer coil are clean. Wood explains that on hot days, units are operating at hotter temperatures as they work harder to create cool air. When coils or filters are plugged, Wood says that air won’t flow properly within the unit, creating leaks. He recommends servicing air conditioners and furnaces once a year, preferably before they’re needed.
