The Vermeer Windmill Celebrated its 10th anniversary on Wednesday. Bonnie Verburg, windmill director, says that the windmill is a symbol of Pella’s Dutch culture. All of the moving parts in the windmill are made with wood, and miller Jim Brandl (Bran-dull) is still impressed by the precision with which it was crafted. The Thursdays in Pella that was to celebrate the windmill has been cancelled, but the windmill will holds tours on a regular basis, serving both the community and tourist from out of the state.
