A group of family, friends, and supporters gathered at the Swamp Fox in Knoxville Tuesday evening showings support for Iowa House candidate Megan Suhr. Suhr, a Democrat, talked about some of the aspects of her campaign thus far. She says that after a more cautious start at the beginning of the year, she feels her campaign is starting to show its strength. Suhr emphasized what issues were important to her, including education, manufacturing, and women’s health. Iowa House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was in attendance and was the special guest speaker. He says that the political discourse has far to the right; this year’s election is critical, he says, to bring sense back to the conversation and shift the discourse back to the center.

Suhr is running against Republican Greg Heartsill in Iowa House District 28.
