The DeCook bison ranch has been selected as the site of a Practical Farmers of Iowa field day to be held next week. The ranch, owned and managed by Mike and Dan DeCook, raises 100 percent organic, grassfed bison with 66 head and expanding. It covers around 3000 acres in Marion and Monroe Counties, with 350 cow-calf pairs grazing during the growing season. The DeCooks will discuss patch-burn grazing, grazing bison, and many more topics. The event will take place next Wednesday morning from 9am until noon at their ranch, located near Attica.
