The Marion County Fair doesn’t officially get underway until tomorrow, but the fairgrounds will be bustling with activity today as 4-Hers bring in their non-livestock exhibits to display and be judged. Marion County Extension Youth Services Coordinator Mindy Kephart says that these exhibits show creativity and imagination. Among the items that she expects on display this year is a restored tractor, sculptures made of junk metal, a quilt, and multiple buckets of flowers, among other items. Kephart says that the projects are as much about the learning process as they are about the finished project. These non-livestock projects will be on display throughout the fair at Dyer-Hudson Hall.
