According to the latest USDA Drought Monitor, Marion County is still under a moderate drought. The drought is now completely covering Iowa, with some areas in the east and southeast dry enough to be considered in a severe drought. Justin Huibner at Two Rivers Co-op in Pella says that the corn crop needs a big rain in the next 7-10 days or it will be in trouble. Rain is in the forecast for the weekend, with a chance to get around half an inch of rainfall.
