The Knoxville School Board held discussion on the impact of the Affordable Care Act on the district during their regular meeting last Monday. Insurance representative Lloyd Schaufenbuel detailed the timeline of the law and what parts may impact the district in particular. The main point Schaufenbuel expressed was that they are full speed ahead with the law for the district – there will not be any waiting on whether elections in November impact what will happen in the future. The law is very complicated, Schaufenbuel says, and the ways things may be implemented can change every day. It would be difficult, in his view, to wait until after November to implement all the changes.
