As previously reported, the Pella Hy-Vee sold sweet corn from Dan D. Farms over the weekend to support ovarian cancer research. Dan Dennison, Dan D. Farms owner, lost his wife to ovarian cancer and was happy to have the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for ovarian cancer research. Nick Floden, Pella Hy-Vee Produce Manager organized the event. He tells KNIA/KRLS News that they sold 1,934 ears of corn on Friday and Saturday. Hy-Vee donated $2.50 per dozen, totalling $405 dollars, and two people donated extra, bring the total to $435.
