Another impact the drought has had is on our bodies of water. There have been multiple reports this summer across the state of fish being found dead in lakes, ponds, and streams. Lower water levels mean less oxygen for fish living in those lakes. Conservation Officer Ken Kenyon tells KNIA/KRLS News that Marion County may have had our first instance of that this year. He says about 50-60 fish were found dead below the spillway over the weekend. Kenyon says the fishery department was going to the scene Monday to investigate.
