Knoxville City Manager Harold Stewart says city staff has been busy prepping for the 52nd Knoxville Nationals. He says it takes a lot of coordination to prep for the thousands of visitors that will descend upon Marion County over a 10-day period. Local law enforcement agencies meet to coordinate traffic concerns, and Stewart says the city talks with raceway officials to make sure they have what they need to ensure the event is successful. The city is also in charge of licenses for many of the vendors in town that week, and Stewart notes that crews will also be working to make sure the City looks its best during that time. The 360 Nationals get underway next Thursday, August 2nd.
