The Scholte House will have a special exhibit starting in September and running through November. It’s a Civil War exhibit. Beverly Graves at the Scholte House says ten regiments from the Marion County area went to the Civil War, and there will be information on those regiments, as well as special exhibits for children. One part of the exhibit is a chance to sample hard tack, which is a dried meat product eaten by the soldiers. The event will be free and open to the public.
