Fire fighters in Pleasantville will be working this weekend to help defeat a debilitating set of diseases. Members of the Pleasantville Fire Department will be at the Pleasantville “Y” Saturday filling up boots in an attempt to “stomp out” Muscular Dystrophy. Passing motorists are encouraged to stop at the intersection and donate dollars and change to the firefighters. All money raised will go the Muscular Dystrophy Association to defeat muscle diseases.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association has worked with fire departments for more than 50 years. In addition to funding research, they also help serve children with camps nationwide that are specifically intended to allow children with disabilities to participate in a number of camping activities.
