An opening ceremony for a special Civil War exhibit at the Scholte House is being planned. The exhibit opens September 15 and will run for two months. It will have a variety of features that show how Marion County was affected by the war. The opening day ceremony will feature civil war tunes from a Central College Choir and other patriotic activities. Flags will be presented by the 49th Regiment Iowa Veteran Volunteer Infantry, who will be dressed in period attire, and some will have rifled muskets. The ceremony starts at 11am on the opening day of the exhibit in Central Park.
