Tomorrow marks the first day of school in Knoxville, and school officials recommend leaving early as traffic will be more congested than normal. The closure of Pleasant Street is expected to bottle traffic around Robinson Street and the Middle School for the next several months. Traffic may also be impacted at the High School and West Elementary. High School Principal Kevin Crawford says some high school students may want to use Howard St., which is adjacent to the hospital, to avoid some of that traffic. Melcher-Dallas begins school on Tuesday, and Pleasantville on Wednesday.
