The Knoxville Police Department has hired Lance Eysink as their new police officer. Eysink is a Pella resident that currently works as a jailer at the Marion County Jail. Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada says he’s very happy to have Eysink joining the department. It takes several months for a new hire to become completely field ready, including time spent with a field training officer and completion of a 12-week police academy at Camp Dodge. Eysink was hired from an initial pool of nearly 50 applicants.
