The Knoxville Optimist Club is continuing its efforts to help young children in Knoxville enjoy Auld Park. Yesterday, a pair of diggers that were donated by the Optimist Club were installed by the Knoxville Street Department. Optimist Club president Craig Kelley says that they’ve spent the last few years helping build up the area of Auld Park west of Second Street to make it friendly for children five and younger. He explains this can help parents separate children from their older, more aggressive counterparts on the main playground. Kelley says their next goal is to put in a physical fitness course for young children over the next five years.
