A fire caused moderate-to-severe damage to a home at Wheel Estates in Knoxville yesterday afternoon. The Knoxville Fire Department was called out to the scene just before 1:30, as flames were shooting through the walls of the home and outside. They quickly knocked down the flames. Part of the wall of the home had to be destroyed, and Knoxville Fire Captain Ben Truetken says that smoke damage is prevalent in the home as well. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though Truetken says it’s not believed to be suspicious in nature. The Knoxville Police Department and Knoxville Rural Fire Department also responded to the scene.
