Knoxville Hospital and Clinics CEO Kevin Kincaid says that creating a healing environment is the focal point as they revise and move forward on their facilities master plan. Part of that is already underway, as the hospital is creating a pond on the southeast part of the campus and extending the sidewalk further down Highway 14. Kincaid says that the hospital keeps track of how many trees they removed and will replace every tree with another somewhere on the campus. He explains that some of the trees along Lincoln St. were creating sight line issues for those coming in and and out of the hospital. Some other trees, he says, just weren’t in good condition anymore.

Kincaid adds that additionally, the master plan calls for improving in-patient rooms, the emergency room area, and surgery rooms.
