A pair of local rivals clash on the gridiron tonight, as Pella Christian hosts PCM in the final non-district match-up for both teams. The Eagles come in riding high off of last week’s 40-19 win in the opener over Lynnville-Sully, and head coach Rich Kacmarynski says his team is looking to build upon the offensive success they found on the ground a week ago; but also look to mix in the passing game a little more often.

Pella Christian quarterback Colten Collins was 7-of-12 through the air last week for 82 yards and two scores, while backs Caleb Morgan and Michael Mason combined for over 300 yards rushing to pace the offense.

On the other sideline, second-year PCM head coach Greg Bonnett is trying to snag a win in Pella for the second straight season. Last year his team pulled away for a 33-14 win over the Eagles. This season’s Mustangs’ squad has been explosive through the air, with quarterback Nate VandeWall rolling up nearly 700 yards in two games, and Bonnett says his offense is designed to get his quarterback into open space and able to find his targets.

KNIA/KRLS has the game covered from both angles, with Jamie Brockman providing the play-by-play from the Pella Christian perspective on 92.1 fm KRLS. The PCM call comes courtesy of Justin Webster, and can be heard live on kniakrls.com. Pregame coverage for both broadcasts begins at 7:00 p.m. tonight.
