The Pella City Council met yesterday evening. They approved a new parking layout in the Central Business District that will add around 50 spots. The new spots will be painted at a different angle and a standardized width. The council also approved a hazard mitigation plan that will be effective until 2016. The plan is necessary in order to receive help from FEMA for projects that could lessen the impact a disaster has on the community.
