A pair of local volleyball teams came away with a fair amount of success Saturday morning at the Pella Christian Volleyball Invitational. The host Lady Eagles went 3-2 on the day, while Knoxville finished 2-3 overall.

Pella Christian swept Gilbert and Grandview Park Baptist 2-0 and added a 2-1 victory over Martensdale-St. Marys; with their defeats coming by 2-0 scores to West Des Moines Valley and Des Moines Christian. Knoxville’s losses also came by 2-0 scores with Valley and Des Moines Christian also nipping the Panthers; along with Bondurant-Farrar. The wins for Knoxville came against Martensdale-St. Marys and Gilbert.

The Knoxville volleyball team is now 9-13 overall this season and travels to Norwalk Tuesday night for a Little Hawkeye Conference contest. Pella Christian improved their overall record to 10-12 on the season. The Lady Eagles will return to action Tuesday night at Pella High School to face the Lady Dutch.
