Local author Stephen Brayton, of Oskaloosa, will be giving a seminar on self defense at the Pella Public Library on Tuesday. Brayton wrote the books Alpha and Beta, which star a female private investigator who shares a passion with Brayton, martial arts. Brayton is a fifth degree black belt and he will demonstrate some techniques that are simple enough that they can provide confidence and a strong attitude to prevent social and sexual harassment. He’ll be at the library at 7pm.
