It may have been a cold night at Southeast Warren, but there were all warm smiles on the Pleasantville sidelines yesterday by the end of the game, as the Trojans got that elusive “W” by defeating the Warhawks 31 – 7. After taking a 13-7 lead into halftime, Chris Peden was able to take the opening kick 75 yards downfield for a touchdown to start the second half. From there, the Trojans were able to roll off 12 more points, while the Trojans’ defense stepped up and held the Warhawks scoreless in the final 24 minutes. The victory last night was also the first of Coach Gabe Bakker’s career. The win puts Pleasantville at 1 – 6 on the year, with a 1 – 4 tally in Class A District 6 play. The Trojans are home for their final two games of the year, with the next being a battle between North Mahaska.
