20-year-old Joshua Michael Klein was sentenced to a maximum of 20 years in prison Friday after pleading guilty to three counts of third degree sexual abuse. Klein admitted to sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl over a four-month period earlier this year. The former Pleasantville man will also be required to register as a sex offender, must complete sex offender treatment, and will be on Parole for the rest of his life after being released.
Marion County Attorney Ed Bull says he hopes the sentence sends a strong message to the community that he will continue to aggressively prosecute crimes committed by sexual predators. He says, plain and simple, adults should not be having sex with children. He also thanks the Pleasantville Police Department and Marion County Sheriff’s Office for what he calls outstanding work and commends the victim and her family for the courage to confront her abuser.
