Republicans across the nation are blitzing the Hawkeye State this week, hoping to tilt the momentum in the swing state toward Governor Romney as Election Day nears. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Preebus tells KNIA/KRLS News that Republican volunteers are out in record numbers in Iowa – more than 2004 and 2008 combined.
Priebus says that we need to be serious on getting the economy back on track, something that he says President Obama hasn’t done. He describes Mitt Romney as reasonable, intelligent, presidential, and ready to put a real plan on the table to get spending under control.
Priebus is among many Republicans in the state this week. Others include Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. Governor Romney was in Cedar Rapids Wednesday and is scheduled to be in Ames tonight.
