Some birds may have already headed south for the winter, but many others stick out the cold temperatures and howling winds this time of year. Marion County Naturalist Marla Mertz will be helping area residents learn about those birds at a Marion County Extension Workshop this Saturday. Mertz will be discussing the different types of winter birds, as well as what bird feeders and seed will attract those birds. The workshop runs from 10:30-noon tomorrow at the Marion County Extension Office. No pre-registration is required.
