Early voting has changed the face of Iowa elections. Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia says that more than 8500 people have already turned in their ballots, the highest number of absentee voters ever. He says that the voters have been turning in ballots everyday since absentee balloting began in September. In 2008, around 18,000 people voted overall between absentee and election day, a number that Grandia expects to see again. Absentee voting remains available at the Courthouse through Monday.
