Marion County authorities tell KNIA/KRLS that a probable drowning has occurred at a farm pond. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Emergency Management, Runnells Rescue, and Pleasant Hill Rescue were called to 175 35th Place in northwest Marion County at approximately 3AM. Officials were able to recover the body of a 78 year-old male from the pond. The name of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification of the family.

Marion County Sheriff Ron Goemaat told KNIA/KRLS News on scene that Pleasant Hill Rescue and Marion County Sheriff’s deputies were able to recover the body using a boat. The deceased was apparently working the the pond aeration hose and became entangled some time yesterday. KNIA/KRLS will bring you more information as soon as it becomes official.
