After getting off to a great start to the 2012-13 basketball season, the Central men’s and women’s teams have each dropped their last three contests, and will try to get some momentum as they will each continue their non-conference schedule at home tonight against AIB. The men are coming off a frustrating loss to Crown on the road Monday, 73 – 61. The Dutch men allowed Crown to shoot better than 50 percent in the first half and were down 43 – 26 at the break. On the women’s side, their last game was a last-second loss to Waldorf, 65 – 64, that saw them lose a nine-point lead at the half and lose a one point lead with 0.6 seconds left. Central head women’s coach, Mike Jacobsma, said that in order to break their recent slide, his girls are going to have to pick up the intensity against AIB on the defensive side of the ball. The 4 – 3 Central men and 3 – 3 Central women will begin the doubleheader against AIB with first tip of the women’s game at 5:30 p.m.
