Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson says that residents were well-prepared during this past week’s winter storm. He says it’s always helpful when you get less snow than was projected, but adds the low number of accidents shows that people were taking the travel warnings seriously. It was also a good sign that no emergency shelters had to open, Anderson explains, despite having a pretty good amount of power outages. He says that indicates people were prepared at home as well. Anderson says they’ll continue to look at ways to improve their communication with the public.
