Hot off the presses, the Bluegrass Conference tournament brackets are out. It is Murray’s turn to host the semifinals and finals of this year’s midseason get together. On the girls’ side, Twin Cedars ended up with a number two seed and will face Mormon Trail this Monday at home, while Melcher-Dallas nabbed a five seed, and will face Lamoni on the road, also taking place on Monday. For the boys, officially, the tournament will start on Saturday with a “Play-in” game between Moravia and Seymour, with the winner getting the dubious task of playing number one seed Murray. The rest of the quarterfinal games will take place this Tuesday. Twin Cedars received a five seed and faces Diagonal in Lamoni, while the Saints are a sixth seed and face Moulton-Udell. The Melcher-Dallas boys’ game is technically a home game even though they are the lower seed, as they’ll be hosting two quarterfinal match-ups for the tournament. The “finals” will all take place at Murray on Saturday, January 19, and will feature first the boys’ consolation bracket winner, and then the girls’ and boys’ championship games.
