Knoxville High School students are taking classes worth more than 1100 college credits this year. That’s what High School Principal Kevin Crawford told the School Board this week. Crawford says that those credits are split pretty evenly among the junior and senior class. The construction trades class was added as a course eligible for college credit this year after the instructor received the DMACC certification.

Overall, more students are taking online classes this year, and less are taking medical classes at the hospital. That’s because of a hard cap that was put on CNA classes for clinical purposes. Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says they’re happy they’ve been able to increase the amount of opportunities for students over the past few years and can help them get ahead on their college careers.
