As the snow moves out of Marion County, a bitter cold front will take its place. Temperatures are expected to continue dropping over the next couple days, reaching single digits by Thursday morning and dipping below zero Thursday night into Friday. Wind chills could be twenty below zero or colder. Readiness officials suggest making sure your car has extra blankets and snacks if you’re traveling, and be sure you cover skin to prevent frostbite. If you do suffer a break-down while traveling, it’s recommended you don’t leave your car. Your car can provide the best shelter from wind, snow, and some bone-chilling cold, and is easy for emergency officials to find if you call.
