car in pond

Marion County first responders will be doing another round of rescue training over the weekend. This training will prepare the emergency responders for ice rescues. Pella Ambulance Director Doug Polking says that the training involves putting on a special body suit that keeps the wearer dry and warm, and also helps them to float. They’ll be practicing for ice rescues on a private farm pond on Saturday. Members from every emergency department in the county will participate in the training on Saturday or the following weekend.
