Both Twin Cedars and Melcher-Dallas have been bitter rivals for years and tonight they’ll get together for a good cause, as it is the two schools’ Coaches vs. Cancer game. On the girls’ side, Twin Cedars just suffered only their third loss of the season to Southeast Warren while Melcher-Dallas easily dispensed Seymour on Friday. Twin Cedars had no problem winning the first confrontation between the two squads, with a final score of 60 – 23. Sabers’ coach, Justin Nolte, said his girls have to do a better job of free throw shooting if they are going to have a shot at making it to the state tournament. The Saints’ and Sabers’ boys’ teams played each other close in early January, with Twin Cedars taking a 55 – 49 win out of Melcher-Dallas. The Saints enter play at 9 – 9 while the Sabers are 11 – 8. There will be several fundraising opportunities at and during the doubleheader tonight, which tips off at 6:15 p.m.
